Hort Connections - Brisbane
Hort Connections is on from the 6th to the 8th of June at the Brisbane Convention Centre, with early bird tickets available until the 28th of April. The theme for 2022 – Growing Together – will highlight the importance for every sector of the horticulture industry to come together to build a stronger more resilient food system to feed local and international consumers.
Enhancing Vegetable Biosecurity
AUSVEG and the Victorian Government are piloting anonymous surveillance and reporting in the vegetable industry to support early detection and management of exotic pests and diseases that are currently not in Australia or not in an individual grower’s specific production region.
Tough fines for trespassing
New legislation has been passed in the Victorian Parliament to deter trespassing on farms. Anyone failing to comply will face on-the-spot fines of $1,272 for an individual and $8,178 for an organisation.
