Churchill Fellowship applications open
The Winston Churchill Trust is once again offering everyday Australians the life-changing opportunity to travel overseas and investigate a topic they are passionate about. Around 100 people from diverse walks of life will be funded in the current round so they can travel in 2023 to explore international best practice and innovation in a field of their choosing.
Seaweed Study underway
Food & Fibre Gippsland’s Elena Nauta recently joined the Deakin University Blue Carbon Lab team on the University’s Lady Bay work-boat as they surveyed seaweed species, environmental conditions, and growing locations in the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. This work is part of the Smart Specialisation Program’s study into the feasibility of a commercial seaweed growing industry in the region.
Forestry Careers Collaboration
Collaboration is at the core of everything we do at Food & Fibre Gippsland, and with the forestry industry making up a significant part in the fibre sector, we are working closely with the Gippsland Forestry Hub on a number of initiatives and activities.
