Food & Fibre Gippsland has partnered with the Latrobe Valley Authority to deliver the food and fibre stream of the Smart Specialisation Project.


Food & Fibre Gippsland is an Industry Partner of the Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (FFWCRC).
We collaboratively support FFWCRC's three research and development programs to deliver:

  • New sources of revenue and market growth for food companies

  • Less wasted resources through the supply chain from grower through to consumer

  • Less waste ending up in landfill

  • More donated food to feed hungry Australians


Food & Fibre Gippsland is an Industry Partner of RMIT University’s EU Centre of Excellence.

Working with a team from the European Union Centre of Excellence at RMIT, Food & Fibre Gippsland has applied Gippsland Smart Specialisation process to explore opportunities for innovation in the implementation of Circular Economy in Gippsland.


Future Food Systems Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) partners leading Australian universities with industry and government bodies, to deliver impactful research in the area of future food systems.

‘Future food’ can be defined as food categories differentiated by exceptional values for nutrition, environmental sustainability, safety and trust.

Food & Fibre Gippsland is an Industry Partner to the Future Food Systems CRC. Their mission is to develop smart, sustainable, resilient food systems which leverage off our nation’s unique strengths, add value to our primary produce and shore up food security.
