Food & Fibre Gippsland at the Wellington Sustainability Festival
Celebrating Sustainability in Wellington
Food & Fibre Gippsland was proud to attend the Wellington Sustainability Festival in Sale recently, joining community groups, businesses and organisations from across the region to celebrate sustainability, innovation and environmental leadership.
A Day of Learning and Connection
Held at the Nakunbalook Environmental and Cultural Education Centre and SEED Community Garden, the festival attracted locals keen to learn more about sustainable living, environmental initiatives and future‑focused solutions. The event featured a diverse program, including workshops, demonstrations, renewable energy displays, market stalls and interactive activities designed to engage all ages.
Showcasing Gippsland’s Food and Fibre Sector
Our team valued the opportunity to connect with members of the community and share information about the work Food & Fibre Gippsland is doing to support agriculture, innovation and sustainable food production across the region. Events like this are an important platform to engage with the broader community, highlight the role of Gippsland’s agriculture sector, and explore how sustainability and technology can support the future of farming.
Looking Ahead Together
It was inspiring to see so many passionate individuals and organisations come together to exchange ideas, learn from one another and explore practical ways to build a more sustainable future for Gippsland.
We thank the event organisers at the Wellington Shire Council, Gippsland Climate Change Network, Nakunbalook and Seed Community Garden as well as everyone who stopped by to chat with us on the day—we look forward to continuing these conversations into the future.
