Victorian Country Market launches this weekend
The Victorian Country Market kicks off this weekend.
An e-commerce initiative to promote the best that regional Victoria has to offer, the Victorian Country Market will provide a digital space to promote food & fibre businesses and receive support from local communities.
From Sunday May 17 suppliers of the best produce, products and services from around regional Victoria will have the opportunity to sell products with the support of this online platform.
The market will be a unique, purpose built site to reflect the Victorian community, and will continue to add new traders after the initial launch. The market is an initiative of the state government to provide a platform for Victorian regional producers to market and sell their products in an online environment alongside other producers.
The site will be ongoing, and all fees will be funded by the Victorian government over the next 12 months.
This is a great opportunity for regional vendors and producers to continue bringing their quality products to Victorians, and for the public to continue supporting the farmers, produce growers and traders during these uncertain times.
This is not intended to replace any of your current e-commerce ventures, but rather to enhance and extend them - just like a regular farmers market, trade show or field day would.
This exciting new online market will be launched alongside the “Recharge Vic 2020” online festival, and will continue for the next 12 months.
Broadcast live around the world and hosted by Delivered Live host and country legend Henry Wagons and featuring ABC’s Myf Warhurst, the event will include live performances by Tones And I, Missy Higgins, Pierce Brothers, The Jezebels, Archie Roach and more, demonstrations of the best produce and products on offer, celebrity cooking segments and so much more - all to promote the market that Gippsland food and fibre businesses have the opportunity to be part of.
