Last night's end of year gathering for East Gippsland Marketing ( EGMI ) was a fabulous sneak peek at the recently created Barrel Room at the Nicholson River Winery.
Food & Fibre Gippsland Acting CEO, Dr Nicola Watts attended the function along with a number of Gippsland's food, business and tourism stakeholders and said the addition of the Barrel Room will be great for the region.
"Nicholson River Winery has been part of the wine landscape in Gippsland since 1978, and have been long time members and supporters of Food & Fibre Gippsland, initially via the East Gippsland Food Cluster "
"The introduction of the Barrel Room will be fantastic for the region as it continues to grow as a foodie destination with the quality of our local produce really gaining momentum in attracting the widespread accolades and recognition that it deserves "she said.
Owners Ken and Juliet Eckersley have done a brilliant job designing a space that maximises both indoor and outdoor dining options, while you drink in the serene views with a glass (or two ) of their popular European styled wines.
The doors will open officially to everyone very soon, but in the meantime head to their Facebook page to keep an eye out for some special preview lunch dates - seats will be highly sought after, so bookings will be essential !
There's a few of the finer details to finish off, barrels to prime and glasses to polish, but this delightful space is set to be a very popular destination for a quintessentially relaxing wine and food experience in East Gippsland this summer, and for every season thereafter !
We'll have more photos soon after an in depth catch up with Ken about their vision for this iconic new space.
