Since 2015, a group of like-minded economic development practitioners from USA, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria have been collaborating to bring together cultural, food, tourism and export opportunities together under the banner of Chef Outta Water – a not for profit organisation.
Opportunity to present to a Chinese delegation visiting Gippsland
In April 2019, Chef Outta Water signed a memorandum of understanding with the Changshu Culinary Association in China.
With a population of close to 1.5 million people, Changshu is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Suzhou, Jiangsu province and whilst the city’s population may seem small, the bigger picture is that it is part of a province that is home to 80.4 million people !
The Changshu Culinary Association are planning a trip to Australia and will be visiting Gippsland next Thursday 23rd of May. Food & Fibre Gippsland is pleased to support the Latrobe Valley Authority in assisting with this incoming visit.
The delegates will be visiting Gippsland to meet with local producers who are currently or intending to export food and wine to China. An interpreter will be attending to assist with discussions.
**Gippsland food and fibre businesses have an opportunity to present their products on 23 May 2019 between 1.45 and 3.45pm at Hogget Kitchen in Warragul. **
If your business is already export ready or close-to-export ready with its Gippsland grown, produced or manufactured products, and you’d like to participate in this presentation forum, please make contact with Jeanie Hall @ LVA either email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 0408 568 042 during business hours.
You will also need to supply information about the export readiness status of your product.
If you would like to bring samples on the day, there will be tables supplied to display your product.
Please advise Jeanie by Monday 19th of May if you plan to attend, and have a brief summary of your business and your products that you can email to her to include in the delegation information pack.
