   Sunday 8th November, 2020

Winners of the Excellence in Exporting Award last year, ViPlus Dairy are back in the finalist circle again in 2020, this time in a different category – Excellence in Food & Drink Manufacturing in a business with more than ten employeee, a category sponsored by Dyers.

The judges unanimously agreed that ViPlus continues to be a solid business in Gippsland from its manufacturing base of Toora, the southern corner of the region.

In the past 12 months, they have commissioned a new facility to produce high value dairy products for the nutritional and cosmetic markets.

This investment has expanded production in the main factory by 40%.

They’ve also installed state of the art packing machinery, whilst employing over 100 staff, making them a key contributor to the South Gippsland community and overall regional economy.

Further expansion plans are in progress and they include a UHT plant along with increased warehousing.

ViPlus is one of the largest nutritional dairy manufacturing plants in Australia and they have markets throughout Asia with over 100 product lines.

They focus on consumer faced products, which drives up value and requires higher skilled staff.
They have a big focus on ongoing training for all their team members, with a dedicated staff member responsible for all training.

While using traditional value chains they are also working with social influencers, a move that has been highly successful in Hong Kong so they have plans to repeat the model in other markets.

Their domestic and international business continues to grow with a clear strategy and aspirational, but achievable growth plans.

ViPlus has expanded successfully into new products and markets, and has further development plans in place, with some already being implemented.

It has identified the high value growth markets that require up skilling of staff so to achieve this, they have a range of appropriate training recruitment and training programs in place.

They remain committed to contributing to and giving back to the local community with plans afoot to work with the relevant organisation to collaboratively plan more trees in the region to support the local environment.
