Food & Fibre Gippsland is collaborating with TAFE Gippsland to bring international Master Chef, Chris Holen, to the Bairnsdale campus in East Gippsland on Monday 16th September as part of the Chef Outta Water initiative.
International Chef to visit Gippsland
This will be a fantastic opportunity for students and teachers alike to learn from an acclaimed international chef and to showcase the best local Gippsland produce on offer in TAFE Gippsland’s Bairnsdale training restaurant.
TAFE Gippsland 3rd year apprentice chefs will undertake a cooking masterclass with Chef Chris, covering smoking of game meats, preserves and pickling.
They will create their own preserves recipe and bottle it on the day.
The 3rd year apprentices and Chris will also create a menu for a grazing table lunch from local Gippsland produce for approximately 20 invited guests, utilising the learned food preparation techniques.
