Submissions Encouraged for Select Committee on Temporary Migration Inquiry

The Select Committee on Temporary Migration has established an inquiry to report on the impact of temporary migration on the Australian economy, wages and jobs, social cohesion and workplace rights and conditions. As temporary migration has been noted by many RDA Committees as a key contributor to regional economic development, interested parties in Gippsland are invited to make a submission.

Donating to help the East Gippsland Bushfire Crisis

The community response to the East Gippsland bushfire crisis has been incredible, with donations of a huge variety of goods, clothing and grocery items pouring into various charities, support agencies and relief centres. The social, environmental and economic impact of the bushfires is and will continue to be immense. The recovery and rebuild of the region will be a long process, so the need for cash donations particularly will be ongoing for some time. Relief centres have requested that no further donations of goods be made, with the focus now on raising funds.
