FHA Food & Beverage 2020 is the largest international food and drinks trade event in the region with more than 48,000 attendees from 100 countries and regions expected to attend. Food& Fibre Gippsland is encouraging Gippsland products that are export-ready or near export ready to join a regional group to participate in the event and showcase their products via the Food Innovation Australia Limited (FIAL ) stand in Singapore from March 31 to April 3, 2020.

The VCCI is working closely with the Victorian and Federal Governments to provide information on business impacts and to secure assistance, now for relief and recovery and over the longer term to help businesses across the state keep people in jobs and communities prosperous.

The community response to the East Gippsland bushfire crisis has been incredible, with donations of a huge variety of goods, clothing and grocery items pouring into various charities, support agencies and relief centres. The social, environmental and economic impact of the bushfires is and will continue to be immense. The recovery and rebuild of the region will be a long process, so the need for cash donations particularly will be ongoing for some time. Relief centres have requested that no further donations of goods be made, with the focus now on raising funds.
It’s difficult to find the right words for a New Year message when so much of our region is going through very tough times with the bushfire crisis in East Gippsland, but the shining star in times like these is the community spirit and gutsy resilience of Gippslanders. Our deepest condolences to those who have lost a family member or friend. Our hearts go out to everyone who is impacted and are dealing with overwhelming losses - this impact will continue to be felt for many weeks and months ahead.
( Information copied from Vic Emergency) There are three significant fires burning in the forest in East Gippsland near Bruthen, Buchan and Bonang. It is likely that these fires will impact communities today (Monday 30th January ) when the weather is forecast to be very hot, dry and with strong gusty winds.
