A collaboration with an internationally renowned Chef, an opportunity to meet the Gippsland educated chefs of tomorrow, congratulations for Gippsland Wine Award winners and some more new members to welcome into the growing Food & Fibre Gippsland group of businesses who want to network, learn and thrive together - it's all been happening with CEO Paul Griffin in and around the region.
Innovation and collaboration are two of the key principles that drive Food & Fibre Gippsland, and for our region along with agribusinesses right across Australia to achieve ambitious growth targets by 2030, being innovative and collaborative is, and will continue to be a vital part of the recipe for success.
The Food & Fibre Gippsland operations team is growing, as we continue to build our capacity to respond to and embrace the diverse needs and aspirations throughout the sector across Gippsland. Our Gippsland Connect SME Export Program Manager David Grimmond has definitely hit the ground running, and in his first few weeks has already connected with nine Gippsland businesses who qualify to be part of the program. David is in the process of meeting all of them face to face to so they can understand more about the program and he can understand more about their business.
Food & Fibre Gippsland CEO Paul Griffin delivered his maiden speech on Friday night to a happy room of Gippslanders in a celebratory mood - and did a cracking good job! There were amazing regional wines, beers and produce to be enjoyed, with excitement in the air about who might take out the 2019 Excellence in Agribusiness Awards, all combining to create genuine conviviality in everyone's energy. We're now very focussed on harnessing that energy and channeling it into a continued collaboration to tell the story about everything that's great about Gippsland. For the 244,528 Gippslanders who couldn't make it to the dinner ( we're thinking we might live stream it next year.. !) - here is what Paul had to say on the night.
The first few months of any new role can sometimes feel like drinking water from a fire hose, with new people to meet every day, a huge ongoing download of information, connections to make and relationships to build, as well as a to-do list that grows by the hour. And I am loving it!
